Key Benefits

  • Environmental friendliness: Emissions into the atmosphere are only water vapor and CO₂. Pyrolysis gases are completely neutralized at temperatures above 1300°C, which eliminates harmful emissions. Compared to traditional methods, which produce 4 tons of harmful emissions per 1 ton of coal.
  • 100% automation: Minimal personnel participation (1 operator + 1 assistant worker per shift). Automatic control of all parameters through the automated control system 2026.
  • Continuity of production: Operation 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week without technological stops.
  • Consistent product quality: The automatic control system ensures constant characteristics of the finished coal.
  • Energy efficiency: The installation runs on its own pyrolysis gas; additional fuel is required only at startup (25-50 liters of propane-butane gas). Produces excess heat 300-1000 kW/hour.
  • Low energy consumption: BC-2: 8 kW/h; BC-3: 13.6 kW/h
  • Compact: Small dimensions with high performance.
  • High reliability: 100% fireproof materials, service life 5-10 years.

Description

BIO-Carbon is a continuous dry-pyrolysis carbonization system for producing biochar, charcoal, and industrial biocarbon with controlled fixed carbon content (Cfix). Its uniqueness lies in indirect heating without atmospheric oxygen contact, maximizing charcoal yield, reducing oxidation losses, and improving product consistency and dencity parameters. The system is suitable for a broad range of prepared biomass feedstocks, including fractions up to 60 mm, which supports metallurgical-grade carbon applications. Unlike rotary carbonization technologies, BIO-Carbon 3 provides a more controlled thermal profile, stable residence conditions, and lower risk of product oxidation. Its thermal oxidizer also functions as a high-temperature cyclone, reducing fine-particle carryover into the stack while neutralizing pyrogases. The ACS controls Cfix through charcoal-temperature-based discharge logic. BIO-Carbon can be integrated with feedstock preparation, drying, separation, cooling, stabilization, and packaging equipment.

An automated control system (ACS) ensures control of the non-volatile carbon content in the biochar, a carbonization reactor ensures the absence of external atmospheric oxygen, and a secondary thermal oxidizer ensures the environmental friendliness of the process, which allows the biochar to be successfully certified (EBC, IBI, WBC, Puro Earth, Vera).

Raw materials for processing

The raw materials for the installation are various biomass, which corresponds to the following characteristics: humidity < 10-15%, fraction 3-40 mm.

Most raw materials require certain preparation, which is determined by the characteristics of the raw material. Conventionally, raw materials for installation can be divided into two types:

  1. Requires preliminary compaction (pelletizing or briquetting);
  2. Requires preliminary crushing and drying;
