Le semi-coke est un résidu de carbone qui se forme à la suite de la pyrolyse de divers déchets contenant du carbone, tels que des pneus de voiture usagés, des déchets de plastique et de caoutchouc industriel, divers polymères, des déchets de tissus, etc. Pour sa formation, une température de 600 degrés Celsius est requise.
Le semi-coke peut être utilisé comme combustible solide ou comme noir de carbone. Dans le premier cas, pour la combustion dans des fours (il peut être préalablement briqueté, mais il peut être utilisé sans briquetage). Un tel carburant a une valeur calorifique de plus de sept mille et demi Kcal. Dans le second cas, le semi-coke est utilisé comme colorant ou charge pour divers produits.
Il est important de considérer la taille de l’omble. Les gros morceaux sont utilisés comme combustible efficace, en particulier pour les besoins domestiques. Les petits morceaux servent de combustible énergétique. Ils s’ajoutent à la charge de cokéfaction – un mélange de différentes qualités de charbon dans divers rapports, qui offrent la possibilité d’obtenir du coke conditionné.
Le semi-coke est bénéfique pour les fabricants de matériaux de construction, l’industrie chimique, la production de charbons actifs, de sorbants, d’additifs pour carburants, car le semi-coke est un carburant sans fumée facilement inflammable à haut pouvoir calorifique : au moins 309 MJ/m3 (7400 kcal/m3) .
