The most dangerous food product at the beginning of the 21st century
Do you know what is the most dangerous food item these days?
You might say it’s soda or chips. Surely they shouldn’t be consumed.
But the top of the most dangerous products according to the realities of our daily life, our everyday life and needs, is headed by fish and seafood. And we ourselves have done everything so that fish and seafood that previously lived in clean water bodies becomes dangerous to eat.
Over the past 20-40 years, humanity has littered the earth more than in all previous history. 30 years ago, the garbage that we threw away is solid organic matter. We handed over the containers and used them many times, the bags were reusable, polyethylene had not yet received such wide distribution and there were no plastic bags; the equipment served reliably and for a long time, there was no excitement for the new model; things were purchased not in pursuit of fashion, but for personal needs.
We definitely throw out garbage in plastic bags, which were invented for our convenience, and at the same time, the consequences after using them are much more serious than the benefits of using them. We are used to living and working on the run, drinking tea and coffee from disposable cups, which are not completely made of paper, but are impregnated with a special composition, due to which one such cup decomposes for about 20-30 years. Plastic is everywhere. From the soles of your shoes to the contact lenses in your eyes, from your phone in your pocket to food in the refrigerator – the evidence is all around us – we live in a plastic age.
7 billion people live on Earth. Let’s take the active half, 4 billion, and calculate. On average, one person produces about 0.5 kg of garbage per day, i.e. per day, all mankind throws out 2 billion kg of garbage, which is not sorted or recycled, but is stored on the surface of the earth, on the banks of reservoirs and in water. Let’s multiply this by 365 days a year and over the last 30-40 years.
In addition, many enterprises discharge toxic waste into water bodies. The artisanal production of charcoal emits 548,000 tons of waste in just one day into the atmosphere. And these are acids, formaldehydes, resins, which fall into the soil in the form of precipitation, 70% of all garbage goes into water bodies.

Now the oceans and seas are the dirtiest thing on our planet, with the highest content of microplastics, toxic substances and heavy metals.
A lake in Serbia is completely covered with waste. Tons of waste have been generated at the foot of a hydroelectric power plant on the Lim River in the Potpeč reservoir in southwestern Serbia. This can lead to dam blockage. Burning dumps are visible from the road, plastic bags hang from trees, and garbage islands float along the rivers of the region.

DAGUPAN, PHILIPPINES. A YOUNG BOY GETS TO THE OCEAN VIEW PLASTIC DUMP, which is over 50 years old. MOST BIODEGRADABLE ITEMS have long since rotted away, leaving a mountain of multi-colored plastics that float in the sea.
UGANDA. 2015 RESEARCH DETECTED PLASTIC FIBERS AND PARTICLES IN 20 PERCENT OF FISH SAMPLED FROM THE LAKE.

CHINA, CITY BEACHES ARE LUGGED UP WITH PLASTIC WASTE AND MICROPLASTIC POLLUTION Escaping from INDUSTRIAL ENTERPRISES. CHINA IS THE LEADING SOURCE OF PLASTIC WATER POLLUTION IN THE WORLD. MICROPLASTIC PARTICLES DETECTED IN 170 DIFFERENT TYPES OF HONG KONG SEAFOOD.
JAKARTA BAY, INDONESIA WITH A POPULATION OF 257.6 MILLION OF THE POPULATION IS THE WORLD’S SECOND LARGEST SOURCE OF MARINE PLASTIC WASTE. The CHAIN, made up of over 18,000 islands, dumped 3.2 million tons of plastic into the ocean in 2010. The government recently pledged to spend $ 1 billion a year to reduce plastic pollution by 70 percent.

DAGUPAN, PHILIPPINES. PLASTIC GARBAGE FROM CITY DUMP – NEAREST GARBAGE CEMETERY. THE PHILIPPINES ARE THE THIRD LARGEST SOURCE OF MARINE PLASTIC WASTE IN THE WORLD AFTER CHINA AND INDONESIA. GOVERNMENT ESTABLISHED A NATIONAL LEVEL ORGANIZATION TO RESOLVE THE WASTE PROBLEM.
About 332 million tons of plastic are thrown into the environment every year in the world.
The situation does not improve over time. The plastic is almost indestructible, which means that plastic waste is not biodegradable; rather, it breaks down only into smaller pieces, down to particles on the nanometer scale – one thousandth of one thousandth of a millimeter.
Fish by its properties is a filter of reservoirs, which absorbs everything that pollutes the water. Those. all the dirt produced by 7 billion people, all the toxic waste and heavy metals, all the plastic nanoparticles end up inside each individual. Squids, shrimps that move along the bottom, absorb even more of this dirt, because they function like mini vacuum cleaners that absorb everything.
What is the greatest danger? Microplastics have been shown to absorb toxic chemicals that cause cancer and other diseases and then release them when eaten with fish and seafood.
Research shows that nanoplastic particles can migrate through the intestinal wall and enter the lymph nodes and other organs of the body.
The only way to keep plastic away from water and soil is to radically rethink its design, use, sale and disposal, and most of all its necessity. There is still a lot to catch up. Many solutions are being comprehended and embodied that can solve this gloomy global reality.
In Belgrade, Serbia, tanks for ORP were supplied. Useful fractions are sorted and sent for processing. The construction of the Energy from Waste plant has already begun for the remaining tailings. The launch is scheduled for 2022. The enterprise will annually recycle 340,000 tons of waste, thereby providing energy to 30,000 homes. The resulting energy will reduce the consumption of natural gas by 80% in the cold season.
In Sweden, at the legislative level, all waste is subject to sorting and recycling at local factories. Nearby countries sell their waste to Sweden for recycling. The Swedish experience shows how you can prevent an environmental problem and make money on waste.
In a circular economy model, manufacturers and designers ensure that packaging and materials can be biodegradable. But so far, more than half of all plastic packaging is non-recyclable.
At the moment, there are many technical developments and proposals from scientists, and not only for replacing plastic with eco-materials that can biodegrade over time without harming the environment. We will be responsible for the environment we leave behind.
GreenPower converts plastic and organic waste into gas and liquid fuels using a variety of technologies. The global waste-to-energy market is projected to grow to a $ 33 billion industry by 2023.
The company “GreenPower”, which has 20 years of experience in the pyrolysis of various waste, including plastic, various polymers and automobile tires, has developed a plant for the processing of rubber products, including polymers. Offers to your attention a detailed study of the advantages of this installation, which is able to recycle and recycle waste into the necessary materials, without polluting the environment. Also in the process of pyrolysis heat energy is released, which can be used for the needs of the enterprise.
