Charcoal Briquetting Equipment
Charcoal briquettes are obtained by grinding wood char and pressing the resulting small particles. This is an engineered fuel, which has several advantages. For example, 1 kg of briquette burns for about 4-5 hours, and almost completely without residue. They are more economical: briquettes have uniform size and provide uniform heat with reduced fuel consumption.
Briquettes have a higher density than lumpwood charcoal, burn 2-3 times longer than lumpwood charcoal, and require only half the storage space. They do not spark during combustion and do not emit carbon monoxide, smoke or harmful compounds.
Charcoal briquettes are an environmentally friendly fuel. They are convenient for transportation, as they do not crumble and do not form dust. They also give a higher energy density, so the carbon footprint per megajoule of energy transported is lower.
The production process is very straightforward:
First, the raw woody feedstock is loaded into the crushing machine, where primary crushing takes place. It passes to a drum separator where it is calibrated by size. Then it enters the storage hopper, where it is mixed and passed to a combined dryer. The next step is crushing and further drying, where the remaining moisture is removed. The prepared raw materials are then fed for briquetting. Briquettes are bonded by the plasticization of lignin when woody raw materials are heated. At the final stage they are cooled in a special chamber.
Briquettes obtained during the production process comply with all European standards and do not require further certification.
