Description
Biochar research is gaining global recognition for its role in net zero technologies, particularly through its impact on carbon capture and storage. Numerous studies have demonstrated the long-term carbon retention potential of biochar. Today, universities, laboratories, and carbon removal developers are actively testing biomass pyrolysis conditions and feedstocks to optimize both product quality and climate benefits. Supporting this effort requires advanced laboratory pyrolysis equipment — capable of precise control, wide temperature ranges, and compatibility with diverse materials.
GreenPower presents a biomass pyrolysis laboratory unit designed for testing, analysis, and research applications. The system enables precise temperature control, syngas characterization, and efficiency evaluation of various feedstock types.
Application
The installation enables:
- Pyrolytic decomposition of plant biomass, polymers, rubber products and other carbon-containing materials in a range of 200 to 800 °C
- Analysis of the obtained fractions: solid phase (biochar), liquid condensates, and gases (syngas)
- Selection of optimal parameters for industrial scaling
- Evaluation of the influence of feedstock type and temperature on the composition and yield of the products
