His work has been foundational in pioneering approaches to wood pyrolysis processes, leading to the acquisition of numerous international and national patents. In 2023, Ivan defended his dissertation at Kharkov Technical University on the topic of “Biochar Production”, earning him a Doctor of Philosophy degree. This academic achievement further underscores his expertise and dedication to advancing sustainable technologies. As the direct developer of eco-friendly pyrolysis furnaces, Ivan has not only contributed to sustainable solutions for producing charcoal but also to the innovation of pyrolysis technologies for rubber products and polymers, highlighting his/her commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainability. Dmytro Semenov’s extensive experience is instrumental in enabling us to undertake eco-projects that meet the demands of the 21st century, blending innovation with environmental stewardship. As our esteemed Chief Engineer, his expertise in industrial engineering and project management has significantly propelled our projects to new heights. Focused on process gas cleaning processes (GCPs) and emissions control, Dmytro has led key projects across various prestigious metallurgical enterprises, demonstrating his prowess in environmental sustainability and engineering excellence. At “METINVEST SICHSTAL” OJSC in Zaporizhzhia, Dmytro oversaw the process GCPs of the BOF shop and the comprehensive CG collection and recovery system. His work ensured the efficient management of emissions, setting a benchmark in environmental standards. His involvement with “Tulachermet-Stal” OJSC in Tula was pivotal during the commissioning of the process GCP of the BOF shop, where he applied Electrostatic Precipitators (ESP) technology. This project was a testament to his innovative approach to solving complex environmental challenges. Dmytro played a critical role at the “Dnipro Metallurgical Plant” PJSC, where he was responsible for the development of working documentation for the converter shop, specifically focusing on the replacement of gas cleaning equipment of the 2nd stage of GCP at rotary kilns № 1 and № 2. His meticulous attention to detail and comprehensive planning ensured the project’s success. Furthermore, at “МК «AZOVSTAL” PJSC, he led the development of working documentation for the reconstruction of converter shop dedusting systems for start-up complexes 1 and 2. Dmytro’s knack for uncovering and addressing complex engineering problems underscores our commitment to pioneering eco-friendly and efficient industrial methodologies. At “NLMK” PJSC, Dmytro’s leadership in analyzing the premature failure of BF No.7 through in-depth CFD modeling of combustion processes and tuyere stocks cooling has been instrumental in extending furnace longevity and operational efficiency. He also spearheaded the inspection and improvement of cast house dedusting systems for blast furnaces No. 4 and No. 6 at “NLMK” PJSC. By conducting aerodynamic calculations and CFD modeling of multiphase flow processes, Dmytro significantly contributed to enhancing the dedusting systems’ efficiency, bolstering environmental compliance, and ensuring worker safety. Dmytro’s engagement with “Kazphosphate” involved thermotechnical calculations via computer CFD modeling for ore-thermal furnace processes, optimizing phosphorus volatilization. This project highlighted his adeptness in applying advanced modeling techniques to boost process efficiency and sustainability within the phosphorus industry. Additionally, Dmytro played a pivotal role in the design and testing of eco-friendly charcoal furnaces, EKKO-2 and Bio-Kiln. His active involvement in these projects not only demonstrates his commitment to environmental sustainability but also his capacity to innovate and apply his CFD expertise to develop cleaner, more efficient industrial equipment.
