(selon l&#8217;enqu\u00eate internationale UNSW)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pourquoi ne l&#8217;utilisons-nous pas ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Stephen Joseph, professeur invit\u00e9 \u00e0 la UNSW Science School of Materials Science and Engineering, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 : \u00ab Le biochar peut aspirer le carbone de l&#8217;atmosph\u00e8re dans le sol et le stocker pendant des centaines, voire des milliers d&#8217;ann\u00e9es. Cette \u00e9tude a \u00e9galement r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 que le biochar contribue \u00e0 la formation de carbone organique dans le sol jusqu&#8217;\u00e0 20 % (moyenne de 3,8 %) et peut r\u00e9duire les \u00e9missions d&#8217;oxyde nitreux du sol de 12 \u00e0 50 %, ce qui augmente les avantages du biochar en mati\u00e8re d&#8217;att\u00e9nuation du changement climatique. \u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Le groupe intergouvernemental a constat\u00e9 qu&#8217;\u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9chelle mondiale, le biochar pourrait att\u00e9nuer entre 300 et 660 millions de tonnes de dioxyde de carbone par an d&#8217;ici 2050&#8221;, d\u00e9clare le professeur Joseph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Le biochar est un produit sp\u00e9cial issu de la pyrolyse \u00e0 basse temp\u00e9rature. Les mati\u00e8res premi\u00e8res sont chauff\u00e9es \u00e0 des temp\u00e9ratures ne d\u00e9passant pas 550 \u00b0 C, sans utilisation d&#8217;oxyg\u00e8ne. En cons\u00e9quence, nous obtenons du charbon de diff\u00e9rentes fractions et du biochar, ce qui peut r\u00e9duire les \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre et augmenter la fertilit\u00e9 des sols.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Il a constat\u00e9 que les rendements moyens des cultures sont pass\u00e9s de 10 \u00e0 42 %, que les concentrations de m\u00e9taux lourds dans les tissus v\u00e9g\u00e9taux ont \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9duites de 17 \u00e0 39 % et que la disponibilit\u00e9 du phosphore pour les plantes a \u00e9galement augment\u00e9&#8221;, explique le professeur Joseph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Biochar am\u00e9liore le syst\u00e8me racinaire des plantes. Au cours des trois premi\u00e8res semaines &#8211; stimule la germination des graines et la croissance des semis. Au cours des six mois suivants, il am\u00e9liore l&#8217;approvisionnement des plantes en nutriments.
